Luminex® Phenotypes

LM2Q lot 3000776

Hi there!

Beads 143, 156, 130, and 148 contain phenotypes with DQ2, DQ7, DR7, and DR16 antigens. Clustering of these antigens suggest the possibility of DR7 and DR16 antibody. Single antigen bead tests react with no specificity. Does anyone know if there is a problem with LM2Q or single antigen bead tests?

  • Sarah, the last two LM2Q lots that we've looked at (3000776 and 3000489) have had a high incidence of reactivity with the DR16 phenotype. In some cases the reactivity has been as high as 7,000MFI, but is usually around 2,000MFI. This is not an issue that we've had with previous lots. In addition, when we run the Single antigen bead assays the reactivity is not confirmed. We've talked to the manufacturer and they plan to address this issue in new lots.
